PROSPECTIVE JURORS SHOULD NOT ENTER THE COURTHOUSE IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES PERTAIN TO YOU:

 

IF YOU FALL INTO ONE OF THESE CATEGORIES, IT IS IMPERATIVE YOU CALL THE JURY COMMISSION AT (815) 319-4880 TO DISCUSS YOUR SITUATION.

 

1.     HAVE TRAVELED, WITHIN THE LAST 21 DAYS, TO ANY COUNTRY DESIGNATED BY THE UNITED STATES CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL (CDC) AS HIGH-RISK LOCATIONS FOR TRANSMISSION OF COVID-19;

 

2.     RESIDE OR HAVE CLOSE CONTACT WITH ANYONE WHO HAS TRAVELED TO ANY COUNTRY DESIGNATED BY THE CDC AS HIGH-RISK LOCATIONS FOR TRANSMISSION OF COVID-19;

 

3.     HAVE BEEN DIRECTED TO QUARANTINE, ISOLATE OR SELF-MONITOR AT HOME BY ANY MEDICAL PROVIDER;

 

4.     HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH, OR HAVE HAD CLOSE CONTACT WITH ANYONE DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19; OR

 

5.     HAVE FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS INCLUDING FEVER, COUGH OR SHORTNESS OF BREATH.

 

 

The Winnebago County Jury Commission is responsible for providing a qualified pool of jurors to ensure the right of all citizens to a trial by an impartial jury.  Citizens who report for jury service are fullfilling a responsibility and protecting a right established under the United States Constitution over two hundred years ago. Indeed, the right to a trial by an impartial jury of one's peers is an integral part of the foundation of American democracy.
